Christmas Student Guitar Concert (20-12-2025)

The Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble will present this year’s Christmas concert on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., in its hall in Rodotopi.
The concert will feature mainly children performing solo guitar works, as well as older students presenting more demanding pieces, including works for guitar ensembles.
Admission is free to the public.

Here are selected photos and a video excerpt from the participation of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble in the 11th Panhellenic Meeting of Guitar Ensembles and Orchestras in Larissa. 

The RGE took part in the event with three different formations (junior ensemble, quartet, and quintet) and extends its congratulations and gratitude to the Municipal Conservatory of Larissa, especially to Nansi Chatzi (artistic director of the event), for the impeccable organization.

The Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble (RGE) will take part in the 11th Panhellenic Meeting of Guitar Ensembles and Orchestras in Larissa, organized by the Municipal Conservatory of Larissa on the weekend of 29–30 November 2025, under the artistic direction of Nansi Chatzi.

This year’s Meeting in Larissa, much like last year’s, takes on the character of a festival, featuring invited artists (a guitar trio and a guitar duo with female voice), who will give concerts on Saturday evening, 29/11/2025, as well as workshops on Sunday morning, 30/11/2025 (see poster).

The Art Exhibition by People with Disabilities

On Friday, October 17, 2025, the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble had the pleasure of participating with a musical program at the opening of a very special and beautiful art exhibition created by people with disabilities from the “Neomartyr Georgios” unit of Ioannina, part of the Social Welfare Center of the Region of Epirus.

The exhibition is hosted at the “Panagiotis N. Soukakos” Conference Center of the Historical Archive–Museum of Epirus, located at Soufari Sarai, from October 17 to 24, 2025.
It is organized with the support of the School of Fine Arts of the University of Ioannina, which will also offer morning art workshops for primary school students during the exhibition.

The Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble has the honor of performing music at the opening of the painting exhibition of the Ioannina Branch of the Disabled Persons Association "The New Martyr George".

The event will take place on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 7:00 pm, at the "Panagiotis N. Soukakos" Conference Center, in the very beautiful and recently renovated space of Soufari Sarai, at the entrance to the Ioannina Castle from the Molos side.

Review of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble in Switzerland (September 2025)

RGE, Lausanne

The Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble (RGE) undertook a unique cultural journey to Switzerland in early September 2025, as part of the project “Musical Bridges with Greek Communities of Switzerland.” The aim of this initiative was both to promote and showcase works by Greek composers abroad, and to strengthen the bonds between Greece and the Greek communities overseas, through music and artistic collaboration.

As part of the project, the Ensemble presented two concerts featuring Greek songs and works for guitar ensemble — in Lausanne and Zurich — organized in collaboration with the Hellenic Association of Lausanne “Estia” and the Hellenic Community of Zurich, respectively. Both performances were warmly received by the audiences, which embraced the Ensemble’s musicians and celebrated music as a bridge of cultural continuity and emotional connection with the homeland.

Junior Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble

On Wednesday evening, August 27th, 2025, the scheduled concert of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble took place in Eleousa, at the Town Hall Square, in collaboration with the Municipality of Zitsa. The program was opened by the Junior RGE, followed by two different groups from the main ensemble.

For the second consecutive year, the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble (RGE) will carry out an international music project under the auspices and with the financial support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, following the positive evaluation of its proposal titled “Musical Bridges with Greek Communities in Switzerland” within the framework of the “Creative Greece” program.

Specifically, the RGE, responding to invitations from the Hellenic Community of Zurich and the Association of Greeks of Lausanne “Estia”, will be in Switzerland from September 4–7, 2025, to present concerts in both cities, as well as an interactive workshop on Greek song.

The Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble (RGE), in collaboration with the Municipality of Zitsa, will give a concert at the Eleousa Town Hall Square on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, at 8:30 p.m.

The concert will open with the Junior RGE, followed by the main musical program featuring Greek songs and orchestral arrangements.

The Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble (RGE) gave a special concert at Ioannina Airport “King Pyrrhus”, responding to an invitation by the Ioannina Hotel Owners’ Association and the Ioannina Airport, as part of an initiative to welcome passengers and promote the local airport.

Welcome concert for passengers at Ioannina Airport by the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble

As part of the initiatives of the Ioannina Airport and the Ioannina Hotel Owners’ Association to promote the local airport, the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble (RGE) will present a welcome concert for passengers at the Ioannina International Airport on Monday, July 21st, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.

The musical program includes arrangements of works by Greek composers, as well as selected pieces from film music and the Greek musical tradition.

The concert will take place at the Rodotopi Cultural Center, due to ongoing renovation and maintenance works in the hall of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble.

It will feature mainly young students who are in the early stages of learning the instrument, performing works for solo guitar as well as for two guitars.

Review of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble in Costa Rica

All musical and educational activities of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble (RGE) in Costa Rica were successfully completed between November 23 and December 1, 2024, under the auspices and with the financial support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.

This was the ensemble’s most extensive journey to date — one that could rightly be described as a “journey of a lifetime,” given the geographical distance of Costa Rica from Greece and the unique opportunity offered to its members to gain invaluable experiences. These included both artistic and educational activities (concerts, collaborations, seminars, and the promotion of Greek music abroad), as well as encounters with the natural environment, lifestyle, and culture of the people of Central America.

The 2025 elections of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble were held

On Sunday, February 9th, 2025, the elections of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble were successfully completed for the election of the Administrative Board and Audit Committee for the years 2025–26.
The elections were conducted remotely, through the electronic voting system “Zeus”, a platform provided by the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (GRNET).

Immediately after the voting process, the elected members held a meeting to form the new Board. Following mutual understanding and with a focus on the efficient operation of the association and the ability of each member to contribute, it was unanimously decided that the RGE will be represented as follows:

Cake cutting for 2025 and General Assembly – Two-year report 2023–24 of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble

On Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble held its 2025 New Year’s cake-cutting event, attended by members and friends of the association, as well as the scheduled General Assembly and two-year report for 2023–24, ahead of the upcoming elections for the Administrative Board and Audit Committee for 2025–26, as provided for by the Statutes.

For the second consecutive year, the cake was kindly offered by Theodoros Argyris Bakery, to whom the RGE extends its warmest thanks.

Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble elections via remote electronic voting – Sunday, February 9th, 2025

The elections of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble, as provided for by its Statutes, for the election of a new Administrative Board (AB) and Audit Committee (AC) for the years 2025 and 2026, will be conducted electronically and remotely on Sunday, February 9th, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., through the Zeus Elections platform, using a personal link that will be sent to each member’s email.

It should be noted that the “Zeus” software is provided by the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (GRNET S.A.), a body supervised by the Ministry of Digital Governance, ensuring the legality, integrity, and confidentiality of the voting process.

Voting and candidacy rights

Cake cutting and General Assembly of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble: Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, 6:00 p.m.

On Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble will hold its annual New Year’s cake-cutting event for 2025, open to all friends and members of the association, as well as to anyone wishing to honor it with their presence.

Following the cake-cutting, there will be a brief two-year report for 2023–2024 and a General Assembly, in view of the upcoming remote elections a week later, for the election of a new Administrative Board and Audit Committee, as provided for by the Statutes.
The election process will follow the same procedure as the remote elections of 2023, with a detailed announcement to follow soon.

Athina Tsiavou Guitar Recital – Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 12 noon

Athina Tsiavou holds a guitar degree and is a final-year student in the Department of Speech Therapy at the University of Ioannina. She has been an active member of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble since an early age.
Her recital includes part of the repertoire she is preparing for her final diploma examinations in guitar at the Contemporary Conservatory of Ioannina (ism).
