The Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble Travels to Türkiye via an Erasmus+ Project of Ege University

Following an official invitation by Ege University, the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble (RGE) will participate in the European Erasmus+ program (KA153) titled "Echoes of Tradition". The project will be implemented in İzmir, Türkiye, from October 7th to October 14th, 2026.

A Few Words About the Project

"Echoes of Tradition" is a project organized by Ege University in collaboration with the State Conservatory of Turkish Music of the same university. It aims to highlight various aspects and approaches to the musical traditions of different countries through musical performances, collaborations, music and dance workshops, as well as live concerts.

July 2026 donations to the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble

The Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble (RGE) expresses its warm thanks to:

a) Mr. Kostas Dimitriou* for the donation of 4 student guitars and two guitar footstools.

b) The Lytis Brothers Blacksmith Shop in Rodotopi, for constructing and installing a wall mount in the RGE hall, which will accommodate the guitars in question.

"Kontoula Lemonia" by the Junior Youth Orchestra of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble

An educational aspect of the musical activities of the "Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble" association is showcased through a professional music video by its Junior Youth Orchestra. In this video, 15 elementary and middle school children perform the traditional Epirotic song "Kontoula Lemonia". This initiative reflects the ensemble's vision to inspire young people and contribute to spreading the values of musical art.

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 7:30 pm, in the hall of the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble of Ioannina, the now established student concert to end the school year will take place, where elementary and junior high school children will play simple pieces for solo guitar, with free admission for the public.

The Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble at the inauguration of Zitsa’s newly built open-air theatre "Euterpe"

The village of Zitsa becomes culturally richer thanks to the donation of the "Euterpe" open-air theatre by the Michael Katsoulidis family, built next to the junior high school.

The inauguration of the theatre will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 7:30 pm. The event is organized by the Municipality of Zitsa, featuring performances by the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble and the municipality's newly established philharmonic orchestra.

On Saturday, January 31, 2026, the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble held its traditional annual New Year’s cake-cutting event, in the presence of members and friends of the association.

The Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble invites all its members and friends to the annual cake cutting event for 2026, which will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., at the Ensemble’s hall in Rodotopi.
