During the weekend of February 10–11, 2018, we had the pleasure of welcoming the distinguished guitar soloist of international career Kostas Tosidis. He offered a remarkable recital at the Cultural Venue “Dimitris Chatzis” and, at the same time, held a valuable guitar seminar at the RGE Hall in Rodotopi.
The events were co-organized by the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble, the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Ioannina, and the Pavlos Vrellis Museum of Greek History. On behalf of the RGE, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Kostas Tosidis for the wonderful guitar moments he shared with us.
We would also like to express our gratitude to the administration of the Cultural Center of Ioannina for their cooperation, as well as to Konstantinos Vrellis, director of the Pavlos Vrellis Museum of Greek History, for his generous sponsorship and decisive contribution to the success of the two-day event.

2) The Seminar in Rodotopi (11/2/2018)
It was a very useful and inspiring seminar, with the participation of students and friends of the guitar from the wider Ioannina region. As a representative of contemporary guitar approaches (he resides in Austria and teaches at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg), Kostas Tosidis worked on issues of technique as well as analysis and interpretation of selected pieces.
A particularly important part of the seminar was the group workshop, with the participation of several guitarists who, in a friendly and creative atmosphere, tried out and performed Tosidis’ suggestions in real time. The workshop included exercises for technical development (such as playing chromatic scales with flamenco tremolo, strengthening and controlling fine left-hand muscles, rasgueados, gradations and dynamics within scales, left-hand stretching, and more).
It should also be noted that the seminar was offered free of charge. In total, eight solo performers participated (in the form of individual lessons open to the public), while Tosidis, tireless and eager to give his best, taught for more than eight hours in a single day.
