Specifically, the RGE, having received letters of collaboration from the University of Costa Rica and the Spanish-Costa Rican Calasanz College — which include, among other activities, concerts in San José and a joint performance with the university’s guitar orchestra — submitted in February 2024 its official application to the Ministry, accompanied by all required documentation. The application was approved on July 31, 2024, with financial support and patronage granted by the Ministry.
It should be noted that the application was accompanied by a detailed presentation of the proposal and its objectives (such as the promotion of Greek culture, outward-looking initiatives, creativity, inclusion of the collaboration letters from the Costa Rican institutions, a financial implementation plan, etc.), as well as all documents confirming the ensemble’s legal status and lawful operation as an association (financial records, tax declarations, statutes, board minutes, court documents, etc.).
Taking into consideration the importance of highlighting the international character of a cultural project originating from Ioannina, the Municipality of Zitsa, and the youth of the region, the RGE will represent Greece on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, conveying a message of collaboration and friendship to the people of Central America.
On behalf of the RGE, warm thanks are extended to the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, the University of Costa Rica, the Spanish-Costa Rican Calasanz College, the Municipality of Zitsa, Costa Rican composer José Arias, Costa Rican guitarist and professor Alejandro Gómez, as well as the Ioannina-based company of high-quality sportswear, Athlos Sportswear.
